Project Ready students explore career opportunities at Barooga Sporties
Late in Term One, the Year 10 Project Ready students embarked on their first workplace tour at Barooga Sporties, facilitated by GMLLEN. The visit provided an enriching experience, allowing students to gain insights into the various qualifications and skills required for different roles within the Sporties group, including the golf club, gym, and restaurant.
During the tour, students learned about the origins of Barooga Sporties and its evolution since the early 1980s to meet the needs of the local community. Engaging discussions with staff members from various departments provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's operations and career opportunities.
The day was not all about learning; students also enjoyed a game of mini golf and a delicious lunch from the bistro!
