Principal's Message

School years have a profound significance in shaping the trajectory of an individual's life. At Cobram Anglican Grammar School (Cobram AGS), we cherish the opportunity to contribute positively to the development of our students' values – from the tender years of early childhood – through the transformative journey to adolescence. Being able to facilitate this journey of personal and academic growth is one of the many advantages of being a Foundation to Year 12 school.

As an Anglican school, our philosophy is one of inclusion. We embrace students from all backgrounds and faiths, as well as students of no faith.

Our mission extends beyond the mere transmission of skills and knowledge. We aspire to create a learning environment where students feel safe and secure, providing a stable platform to grow academically, emotionally and socially.

Drawing from my career in education, I've come to appreciate the significance of a supportive and nurturing environment as I truly believe this enables students to exhibit the best version of themselves.

At our school, students are encouraged to embark on a journey of self-discovery and embrace challenges, whilst actively engaging in all areas of school life; whether they be academic, sporting, cultural or community service pursuits.

In my view, there has never been a more exciting time to enter our school community. Over the past 12 months we have set out to meaningfully widen the scope of offerings available within our secondary school curriculum to ensure we are well placed to cater for all students in our local region, regardless of their academic level, interests and preferred career pathways.

This has led to the introduction of our inaugural Sports Academy program, the VCE Vocational Major and the Project Ready work readiness program, all fantastic initiatives which are giving our students greater opportunities and flexibility in the way they manage their pathways.

In addition to these new elective offerings in our secondary school, we have secured a capital grant of $1.9 million from the Federal Government that will enable us to build a state-of-the-art $2.6 million Trades Centre which will feature working areas for car mechanics, metal work, timber work and a classroom. This facility will position our school as a regional leader in the Technology education space. The Trades Centre will be equipped with cutting edge equipment such as Kuka Robotics, laser cutters, water jet cutters, 3D printers and CNC machines – machinery that is very much at the forefront of various industries – in turn preparing our students to be as "job ready" as possible before leaving school.  It is our expectation that the Trades Centre will be open for classes in the second half of 2025.

With all of these significant curriculum and infrastructure developments pushing our school forward and enhancing the educational opportunities available to our students, it’s a truly compelling time to join the Cobram AGS community.

I extend a warm invitation for you to explore first-hand what makes our school such a special and vibrant place. Enrolment tours can be booked at any time during the school week. Whether you're considering enrolment opportunities or simply want to know more about what our school can offer your child, I’d encourage you to contact me via email at principal@cags.vic.edu.au or phone the school office on (03) 5871 1816 to arrange a meeting with me.

Warm regards,

Keith Willett
